The site is mostly about our travels since we retired in 1997. For now you can see the details of our 1997 to 2002 sailing odyssey in Alcyone from Seattle to Florida via the Panama Canal, our 2004 and 2006 trips to Mexico, and the photos and Travel E-mails from the 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 trips on our boat Fiesta on the canals of the Netherlands, Belgium and France.

There is also some information about us, where we live and how to contact us, and some links to sites that have more information, mostly about canal cruising in Europe. Use the links at the top of the left column for all the details.

We are now back in Seattle after a wonderful trip along the Canal du Rhone a Sete and the Canal du Midi from Beaucaire to Toulouse and back to Villeneuve les Beziers, where we left Fiesta for sale . The sale was completed in December 2007 just before the New Year to a French couple who live in Valence on the Rhone, where we spent an enjoyable week in our journey south in 2006. We didn't sell Fiesta because we were tired of canal cruising. There a many areas we have not seen that would be very interesting but, as we grow older, we realise that if we are ever going to be able to explore other countries that are not accessible with an inland water vessel we had better get on with it before we can't do that anymore. One of those countries is our own USA. Of all our modes of travel over the years cruising the canals and rivers has been the most enjoyable and relaxing, an ever changing waterfront property in beautiful and historic Netherlands, Belgium and France. We highly recommend it to all who read this.

We returned to Seattle via Stockholm, Sweden where stayed two weeks with our friends and generous hosts Bjoern and Margareta, whom we met in the Bay Islands of Honduras and the Rio Dulce in Guatemala during our sailing trip.

There is much to do now we are home but I will try to get the travel news and photos posted on the site as soon as I can.
